President Al Sisi received President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, during his official visit to Egypt. President Al Sisi emphasized that Egypt holds its distinct friendship relations with Belarus in high regard and expressed appreciation for Belarus’ positions in support of Egypt and the will of its people. President Lukashenko extended an invitation to the Egyptian President to visit Belarus and lauded the distinct level of the two countries’ relations. He confirmed his country’s resolve to step up cooperation with Egypt in the coming period along all tracks to realize mutual interests. He also emphasized that Belarus supports the establishment of a free trade zone between Egypt and the Eurasian Customs Union, which encompasses Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, in order to facilitate and increase trade and capitalize on Egypt’s distinct location to access Arab and African markets.
